Finding the Perfect Planner
Hi there!
So, if you follow me on Twitter or are friends with me on Facebook, you're aware that Franklin Covey and I are dear friends and that I've eagerly awaited the arrival of planner bliss-dom on my doorstep over this past week.
The package showed up on my doorstep yesterday, and I am in planner heaven! I decided to share the joy of its arrival with you and unbox the new prize on camera. :-)
And, as with everything worth remarking upon in my life, there's a story to go along with discovering this planner. In this video, I take you along for the journey.
By the way, I showed this video to Kirk tonight, and he thinks it's absolutely hilarious. I'm not sure if it's actually hilarious or simply funny to him because he knows me so well and is totally a planner geek of the superior kind himself. (Seriously, the man takes three planners with him to work every day!) You be the judge. In any case, Kirk is of the opinion that I should do product reviews professionally. :-)
Also, it seems worth mentioning that despite my love for planners, if you and I were to ever take a trip together somewhere, I would not be the sort to plan every sight and sound worth seeing along the way. When I travel, I prefer slow, unplanned spontaneity. This planner mania is reserved for my everyday life only!
Enjoy!
xoxo,
Christianne
PS: I mentioned in the video that I would link to Kelly Rae Roberts, so here's the link to her website and blog.

You are so funny! I love you! I love that there's someone in this world who would make that video, and that I can call her "friend."
I have this love/hate relationship with planners and to-do lists. I need them, but if I make too many of them or get too rigid, I hate myself and my life and I just want to be free.
I used to have "planner day" every fall, where I'd go buy a new planner and make a one-person party out of it. But I could never find one I really liked. Now I use google docs and tasks, and an ugly yellow steno pad. Crazy, but it works, at least for now. Though I still track a lot in my head, which I'm a big fan of until I forget something ;)
Oh! I forgot to tell you. I got so distracted by how to pronounce "moleskine" (I've always just said mole-skin) that I had to stop your video and eventually found this, and then I could come back and pay attention ;)
Yes I laughed many times!
Fun to wach! You are soooo cute :-)
I desire to be a planner. I can see a beauty in it, but as you may have guessed - I am not much of a planner. Have no calendar.
Love!
P.S.
I wrote a post for you on my blog :-)
You know what? I had passed twenty the very first time I ever saw a to-do-list.

Oh, you girlies are so cute! Thanks for all the love on this video. I worried it was too long ... who would really watch an 11-minute video on *planners*??? I'm glad you were entertained and that it made you think. :)
Sarah, thanks for sharing that link to the Moleskine site! Oh, I can rest easier knowing the People of Moleskine have declared you can pronounce it however you want! Yay!
It's fun for me to hear your relationships with to-do lists and planners. I've found writing things down helps me remember something better, and I've also found it helps me stop worrying about it. The list does the work of remembering for me. :)
Lots of love to you both!

You are too stinkin' cute! I love it! You make me want to get a planner =)
i always pronounced it "mole-skin" too, which is actually a little off-putting to a non-violent vegetarian. ;) i thought this video was really amazing. i have tried a million different planners and was never really happy with any of them. now i use google calendar and it seems to work for me. plus, no moles are skinned in the making of my virtual organizer. :)
where is this planner on their website? I have looked for it but cannot find it. You blogs are inspiring.
Hi Ricky!
Thanks for visiting. The planner I bought for 2011, from the Botanica series at Franklin Covey, is found here.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm glad you found some inspiration here. :)
