These Friends of Mine

What an incredible time.

That pretty much sums up my sentiments on the five days I just spent with Kirsten, Christin, and Sarah in Kirsten's hometown of Bellingham, Washington. I will share more on this rich experience soon (I'm still recovering from the two days it took me to get home!), but for now you can join us vicariously through the following photo montage, set to the aptly named Rosie Thomas song, "These Friends of Mine."

I love you, girls. Miss you so much already.

Get some additional glimpses of our retreat time here, and catch a first look at the new collaborative project emerging as fruit from the time we spent together.

WOW. WOW.

serious tears (yes, amazingly, i have some left!!) streaming down over here. that song was so fitting and just so ... so, us.

when i try to put words around it, i just can't and i don't want to minimize what we had & have together by trying. the tree of you are among the most thoroughly beautiful people i know.

all i know is that God moved and moves among us and that though we each have a reason why we don't quite "fit" with the others, it just works. we belong to Him & to each other. and i love that. even though you girls are so far away, being with you has made me feel grounded somehow. connected.

i have nothing to say. i can only offer up my piece of our collective understanding of what this time was, my heart & yours.

love you, friend. love to all my girls.

Wow is right.

My tears are still streaming down my face--not good when I have to walk out the door this meeting to get to a morning meeting at school! lol

I feel blessed by just peeking into your visit with this post and the pics. Can't wait to hear more about it, dear.

I love you, and I'm so thrilled you got this meaningful and rich respite with your girls, especially after your long sojourn through school and some other places on this long journey.

God bless.

Ok, so I have a list of things I don't do on the internet at work...you know, click on the Victoria's Secret ad, watch movies, etc. And I'm thinking of adding "watch videos Christianne makes" to that list. Because seriously? Barely holding back the tears. No, not really holding them back. Letting them swim in my eyes.

Love, love, LOVE to each of you. Because of God, we work so well together, and that's a beautiful thing.

Kirsten--Christianne and I both like trees...maybe you're channelling us?

perhaps!! :o)

i thought about mentioning something about how i was definitely NOT intending to channel dr. reynolds & a discussion of anyone's inherent "tree-ness" or anything like that.

seems like something he might say (in a mickey mouse voice, no less).

Such beauty and love and loveliness (I love that love is the center of loveliness). Your friendship is a taste of Christ not just for each other but for those of us who witness it.

Okay, you girls seriously made me laugh and shake my head with the "inherent tree-ness" discussion right there about Dr. Reynolds. "RI-CO-LA!" ahhhh!! :)

Well, I didn't mean to make all of you cry! But I guess it makes sense because I had lots of tears, smiles, and laughter over here as I was making the montage and watching it over and over again, too.

Love to all of you. So glad this could be a blessing. I think I'm going to go back and watch it again. :)

I thought about just leaving my previous comment without further comment, thinking some my think it referred to Christianne's video.

However, I also want to say thank you, Christianne. That was beautiful.

I miss you three so much already. I keep thinking, the tragedy of it all is that it's not like I could just make a move and we would all be together. We are spread across the extremities of this country. Then again, perhaps God is maximixing his resources. ;)
